Needing to win to advance to the tri-series final against India, the Aussies looked in trouble when they made just 7-132 off their 20 overs.
Vlaeminck provided the spark Australia needed with a fine spell of fast bowling early in the England innings.
The former Strathdale-Maristians quick shook up England star Danni Wyatt with a well-directed short ball and, later in the same over, dismissed the opener when she gloved a short ball to keeper Alyssa Healy.
Vlaeminck produced the ball of the match to send Amy Jones packing.
A fast in-swinger nipped between Jones' bat and pad and cannoned into leg-stump.
Vlaeminck finished with 2-18 off her four overs, but the figures weren't a true reflection of how well she bowled.
Vlaeminck's close friend Sophie Molineux (3-19) put the England middle-order in a spin.
England finished 7-116 of its 20 overs - 16 runs short of the Aussies.
Australia plays India in the tri-series decider on Wednesday - the final match before the start of the T20 World Cup.
"Last night we called this our semi-final that we needed to win and we ticked that one off," Molineux said.
"We've definitely got the World Cup in our mind but at the same time we want to win this tri-series and build that momentum.
"To hopefully get another win on Wednesday, we think that's the best preparation for a World Cup."
While Australia escaped with a win over England, concerns remain about the form of some key players leading into the home World Cup.
Star Alyssa Healy's batting woes continued when caught on the fence from a misguided pull shot for one.
The wicketkeeper/batter has scored 11 runs in her past four internationals and was hit-or-miss during the WBBL.
Veteran batter Rachael Haynes (24) put together her best innings of the series after averaging 6.67 from the first three matches.
