Queensland golfer Chris Wood carded a clean bogey-free round to deny Bendigo's Andrew Martin back-to-back Axedale Pro-Am titles.

Wood, 29, finished the tournament at six-under par 63, walking off the course with consecutive birdies.
"I was putting well and hitting the ball well all day," Wood said of his win in the Symes Motors BMW backed event.
"The win gives me a lot of confidence as putting has been something I've been struggling with lately.
"After I holed a couple good putts I was able to keep the momentum going."
The tournament was the first time Wood had played the course under competition conditions.
He was able to get a quick first look at the course during a practice round earlier in the week.
"The course certainly has a couple of tricky holes," Wood said.
"I was fortunate to play a practice round here so I was able to figure out the holes that were good for pars and which were the birdie holes."
Wood secured $1,975 in prize money, but most of all the win has boosted his confidence for the rest of the year.
"I haven't been playing great lately and today gives me plenty of confidence going into the next couple of weeks.
"If you are able to putt well in these one days events, it definitely helps get some good scores."
Bendigo golfer Andrew Martin finished one-stroke behind Wood, after dropping a shot on the par-4 17th, which was his only bogey.
Axedale GC president Allan Andrews said it was nice to see local golfers support the club's event.
"Martin and Kris Mueck were in action today and in the past Lucas Herbert has played the event.
"We love the support our event receives from local golfers and it's fantastic that Andy came second.
"It's our second year running it and we're going to develop it into one of the premier pro-ams in Victoria.
"We're already in discussions with what we're going to do next year."
Players will now turn their attention to the second leg of Bendigo's summer of golf.
Neangar Park GC holds its pro-am today with several golfers that played at Axedale set to return to the course.
