Their loved ones spoke about Mrs West's bubbly, friendly, fun personality, and Deighton's confidence, kindness, care and enthusiasm.
Mrs West, 37, and Deighton, five, died in a crash near Creswick on December 29.
Deighton was about to begin school in 2020, while Mrs West was a teacher at Strathfieldsaye Primary School.
Mrs West's husband Anthony West spoke about her bubbly personality. He remembered their first meeting, saying:
"There was something about her that I hoped I would see her again."
Mr West described his son Deighton, full of layers: cheeky, kind, cuddly, competitive. He remembered Deighton's love of dressing up, of cricket and for his friends.
"Jess I will always love you. You introduced me to a lot of amazing things, look after our little man in heaven," Mr West said.
"Deighton your life was short, but boy did you live it to the fullest."
Mrs West's father Ken Shearer described her early life, her fearlessness, her determination, her love of netball and dancing.
In a eulogy read by Mr Shearer, Deighton's grandmother Chris Shearer remembered a little boy who would race his brother for a cuddle when she walked in the door.
"Jessica and Deighton, our hearts are breaking for your loss and we will always love you to the moon and back," Mrs Shearer said.
Maddie Shearer described her sister, Mrs West, as bubbly, kind, selfless and "one in a million".
Ms Shearer said Mrs West would talk to anyone, and always make them her friend.
"To Jess family was everything. And if you were lucky enough to be one of her friends, you were part of her family too," she said.
"Thank you for always being there for me."
Ms Shearer remembered Deighton as a boy who knew how to march to the beat of his own drum, saying she would cherish her last memories of him, playing with his cousins in Perth.
Strathfieldsaye Primary School principal Cindy Bruechert spoke of how Mrs West would make a whole room brighter.
"Jess was such a passionate and caring person. She had the perfect personality for a teacher," Ms Bruechert said.
"She treated her students like members of her family, sharing exciting news like Anthony's cricket success or a Bombers' win."
Family carried out the coffins - Mrs West's in bright colours and her beloved Bombers' logo, Deighton's with superman decorations.
Mrs West and Deighton leave behind husband and father Anthony West, and son Oakley.
