A team of 10 paddlers comprised Connor McGowan, James Humphry, Charlie Wardrop, Sam Wardrop, Henry Livingstone, Ashlee Ilott, Baelea Collins, Ebony Merlo, Jorja Mandersloot, Cara Humphry and Karen Merlo.

They raced in 42 K1, K2, K4 events over the distances of 100, 200 and 500 metres.

Ebony Merlo winning all her events in the under-16 years, including the KS with Jorja Mandersloot.

Thirteen-year-old Mandersloot won the doubles and K4, as well as dual bronze medals.

Ashlee Ilott and Baelea Collins won gold in both the 200 and 500 K5 200.

Ilott also won both the K1 500 and 200, while Baelea won the 1000 metres.

Connor McGowan made the biggest improvement among the Bendigo junior's with a 20 second improvement over 500m compared to last year.

He won dual bronze medals in in K1 500 and 200, claimed gold in the K2 200 and silver in the K2 500.

James Humphry and Sam Wardrop picked a bronze in the under-23 K2 1000. Humphry was the fastest Bendigo paddler.

Cara Humphry picked up bronze in the under-23 K1000 and also silver in her K2 races. She was the fastest female paddler from Bendigo.

Contesting thier first state sprint championships, Wardrop and Henry Livingstone had a great race in the under-16 k2 500 to win bronze.

The Bendigo paddlers will now switch their focus toward marathon events, with the Victorian marathon championships, the short course championships at Bendigo (March 22) and then the Australian Marathon championships in Geelong (April 17-19).
