A DRIVER will face court and a P-plater has lost their licence, as police seek to stop motorists speeding along the Calder Freeway.

Macedon Ranges Highway Patrol has busted four drivers rocketing along the freeway in about seven days.
One driver was recorded speeding at 161 kilometres an hour in Woodend, near Black Forest Drive, on New Year's Day.
Another, still on their P-plates, was doing 139kph.
A third driver was detected some days prior near Gisborne doing about 150kph, and a fourth was doing 149kph.
"People just need to slow down for their family's sake, if nothing else," Acting Sergeant Georgie Thompson said.

She said the road safety message was all the more pertinent, "after such an horrific year last year".
Fifty more people died on Victoria's roads in 2019 than the year prior. The TAC recorded 263 lives lost in the calendar year to midnight on December 31.
We're only three days into 2020, and the provisional road toll stands at three. There had been no fatal crashes this time last year.
Acting Sergeant Thompson said the driver detected doing 161kph would face court.
The P-plater had already lost their licence for three months.
Police said driving at excessive speed was unacceptable.
Last year was the worst in five years for the number of people killed on the roads in central Victoria.
