Bendigo is set to reach a top of 39 degrees tomorrow, followed by a mostly sunny 35 degree day on Saturday.
Parts of the state's north are forecast to endure temperatures in the high 30s.
Victoria's Chief Health Officer has issued heat health alerts for the Northern Country, North Central, Mallee and North East weather districts, given tomorrow's predicted weather.
Country Fire Authority community engagement coordinator Paul Tangey urged people to familiarise themselves with their fire district and to check the fire danger rating every day over summer.
"We would urge people not to travel into high-risk areas on bad days," he said.
"Make sure you're aware, if you're travelling, of what areas you are going into."
He recommended people considering doing works during high-risk conditions to postpone to a much cooler day, wherever possible.
"We ask people to look after themselves," Mr Tangey said.
He also urged people to ensure they knew what they could, and could not, do during the fire danger period and on total fire ban days.
