
Bendigo cricket products Brayden Stepien and James Seymour are in the top 10 run scorers at the halfway mark of the Victorian Premier Cricket season.
Stepien is enjoying another productive season with Carlton.
The left-hander is eighth in the league with 357 runs at an average of 51. He has a highest score of 128 in nine innings.
Melbourne University's Andrej Yaksender leads the league with 475 runs at an average of 79.17.
In last year's premiership season Stepien finished with 755 runs at an average of 53.93.
Seymour, who opens the batting for Essendon, has made 348 runs this summer at an average of 49.71.
He has two half-centuries, with a highest score of 85.
Seymour made 980 runs at an average of 51.22 last season.
Seymour's Essendon team-mate Liam Bowe - a former Sandhurst spinner - has taken the seventh most wickets at the halfway mark.
Bowe has taken 18 wickets at an average of 16 and strike rate of 30.56.
Another former Sandhurst player - Todd Murphy - has taken 17 wickets for St Kilda at an average of 22.
Carlton opening bowler Xavier Crone has 13 wickets at an average of 22.46.
Dandenong's James Nanopoulos has the most wickets with 27.
The Premier Cricket season resumes on January 11.
