Emu Valley will open next month's Bendigo Country week cricket carnival with a day-night clash against Grassmere.
Emu Valley and Grassmere will do battle in division one at the QEO on Sunday, January 19 from 3pm.
Both teams will then have Monday off as the other four division one teams - Wangaratta, Gisborne, Goulburn Murray and Murray Valley - start their campaign.
This summer the carnival will be played in two divisions instead of three. Last summer six teams contested division two and five teams competed in division three.
With the number of associations competing at Country Week declining, this season the BDCA has placed 10 teams in division two.
Murray Valley and Grassmere have teams competing in both divisions.
The division one final is at the QEO, while North Bendigo will host the division two decider.
