A 23-year-old woman has received a $289 fine and three demerit points after a crash in the Bendigo CBD on Monday.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the intersection of Williamson and Myers streets about noon after a two-car collision.
The 23-year-old, driving a Hyundai hatch, failed to give way when she turned right at the intersection and crashed into a Ford sedan, driven by a 79-year-old woman.
The older woman was not believed to be injured, but taken to hospital for observation as a precaution.
The CBD-bound lane of Williamson Street was closed for about half an hour.
"The lesson from this is, wait until the intersection is clear before proceeding to turn right," Sergeant Mick McCrann said.
