UNITED'S Harry Whittle will captain Emu Valley at next month's annual Bendigo Country Week cricket carnival.
Emu Valley has named a final squad of 16 to be led by Whittle, with Mandurang's James Pietromonaco vice-captain.
Among the squad are the competition's top five wicket-takers after six rounds in Jordan Ilsley (25), Whittle (24), Taran Kilcullen (19), Pietromonaco (18) and Joe Hartney (16).
The batting is headlined by the competition's leading run-scorer in Rhys Webb (345), who has made two centuries this season.
Fellow century-makers this season in Connor Robertson and Alex Gorrie are also among the squad, while Greg Thomas, Alan Friswell and Travis O'Connell provide plenty of experience.
The squad of 16 has been cut back from an initial list of 35.
The 2020 Bendigo Country Week carnival will be held from January 20 to 24, with Emu Valley competing in division one for the sixth year in a row.
