Bendigo Dragons have made the top-eight teams to secure a spot in the 2019 play-off series.
The Dragons finished the regular season with a 7-5 record in seventh position on the Gridiron Victoria ladder.
The Dragons capped off the season with a convincing 40-point win on Saturday over the Melton Wolves.
"It was a hard-fought win over the Wolves" Dragons coach Matt Plathe said.
"Melton has some big guys that can be difficult to control, but we managed to hold them to no score which was a great effort."
During the second half of the game Plathe experimented with some new on-field player set-ups.
"We tried some different looks in the second half of the game to mix it up a bit ahead of finals," Plathe said.
At the start of the season the Dragons took on several new rookies, who have grown from game-to-game and are now integral members of the team.
"They have slotted into the team really well," Plathe said.
"They are all starting to make some big plays during games and are an important part of the team."
The team is now preparing for finals which commence next weekend in a top-eight style AFL format.
"There are a few players who are back from injury so the team is looking strong ahead of finals," Plathe said.
