The Castlemaine Library is ready to reopen after months of refurbishment works.
The upgraded library on Mechanics Lane will be open to the public on November 20 after a $420,000 renovation.
The new-look library will have a new layout, more seating, an extra photocopier and two more public computers.
The library's reopening had been delayed after unexpected issues with the old sandstone foundations, but library manager Jess Saunders said the staff were now ready to reopen.
"The team is very excited to move back into the library and we can't wait to show off the new space to the community," said Ms Saunders said.
A pop-up library had been located at the historic Market Building in Mostyn Street since July, but the centre will close on November 12 to allow for staff to relocate the collection and set up the new space.
During the week-long closure, borrowed books can be returned through the returns chute on the Barker Street side of the Castlemaine Library.
