An officer for 36 years, Inspector Kaminski died on Tuesday aged 52.
Yesterday hundreds of mourners, both police and civilian, overflowed the church - many heard the service through loudspeakers in the church grounds.
Among those present at the funeral was Bendigo's top cop Superintendent Greg Duckett, Region Three Assistant Commissioner Gary Jamieson and Federal Member for Bendigo Steve Gibbons.
At the funeral's conclusion, police members formed a guard of honour along Myers Street, saluting the corterge as made its way to a private burial service.
Eulogies were delivered by Superintendent Duckett and Inspector Kaminski's brother Bjoern.
Supt Duckett reflected on the 1999 Kangaroo Flat siege, where Inspector Kaminski was shot in the stomach.
"I was amazed to see him return to work within four months, but I think that really characterised the man," Supt Duckett said.
Bjoern Kaminski said his brother was a proud police officer who away from the force loved nothing more than a quiet drink or to work on his farm at Sedgwick.
Inspector Kaminski's three daughters Rowena, Carly and Natalie also gave a glowing and emotional tribute to their father.
