The Monro sisters Marlah, 10, and Ava, 13, will play with Calder United SC next year in the National Premier League Victoria girls competition.
Both were signed to the team as goalkeepers after undergoing a tough tryout process.
"It was a little bit nerve-wracking, but I had to give it my best go," Ava said.
"If I made a mistake, I just kept going. If I was to dwell on it then I wouldn't play at my best during the rest of the trial."
Both Ava and Marlah have only been playing for a couple of years, with some of that time on the field with FC Eaglehawk.
"Playing at Eaglehawk has been really fun, there are lots of great people here and it has a friendly club atmosphere," Marlah said.
Marlah looked forward to the test of playing in a challenging league and meeting new people.
"It's pretty cool to be at a new club where I can make lots of new friends," Marlah said.
Taking control of the goal area wasn't initially a position either sisters preference on the field, but after a few games they now both love it.
"When I first started playing soccer I wanted nothing to do with goals and would avoid it at all costs," Ava laughed.
"Then I tried it and fell in love with it."
Bendigo Amateur Soccer league technical director Louise McColl said the sisters' signing to Calder United was a great accomplishment.
"We wish Ava and Marlah good luck in the 2020 season at Calder United and we're looking forward to hearing about their experience later in the year," McColl said.
Marlah will play with Calder's under-12 team while Ava is on the under-14 squad.
Pre-season training starts in six weeks, with a small break over Christmas, they will then be back hard at work on the pitch for the 2020 season which starts in February.
