Police have arrested a 30-year-old Tasmanian man in relation to a stabbing in Flora Hill overnight.
Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit Sergeant Michael Thompson said a 33-year-old Marong man was stabbed at a Somerville Street address about 4am on Wednesday.
The man is in a stable condition at Bendigo Health.
Police arrested the Tasmanian man about 8.30am on Wednesday. He is assisting police with their inquiries.
"At this stage, I can can't give details about what charges will be laid," Sergeant Thompson said.
"Needless to say, we're investigating a stabbing where someone has been injured and we take that quite seriously."
Sergeant Thompson said the two men were believed to be known to each other.
Police were also speaking to a number of people who witnessed the stabbing.

Police are investigating a stabbing overnight in the Bendigo suburb of Flora Hill.
Emergency services were called to a property on Somerville Street after getting reports of an attack between 3am and 4am on Wednesday.
Police said a male was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Bendigo Health said a patient was in hospital in a stable condition.
Detectives confirmed one person has been arrested.
