Harry Arnett has just about achieved everything he can behind the wheel this year, including his latest top podium finish at Race of Stars on the Gold Coast.
Arnett went into the final race of the event after winning almost all of his heats, apart one where he finished second.
He took pole in the main race of the cadet 12 category and led from start to finish, and it wasn't until the last five laps that any of the other drivers in the field came close to passing.
One major challenge for Arnett was racing on a track he had never driven before, the fast flowing Silverstone circuit at Xtreme Karting.
"It was a different track to what I am used to," Arnett said.
"It was very fast and flowing. But I got used to it.
"At some stages it was difficult because of the draft along the main straight and how long it was."
The circuit is in excess of one kilometre and features several curves and hairpin turns which test even the most skilled racers.
The cadet 12 class started with 50 entries and was then reduced to the top-36 for the main race.
The win on the Gold Coast caps off an impressive year on the track as he was also crowned national cadet 12 champion in September for the second consecutive year.
Arnett was impressed with his own progression this year and was thrilled to win the coveted Race of Stars surfboard.
The race-meet was by invitation only and included some of the best from around Australia and abroad.
He will now move up to the junior category next year, which will give him room to continue progressing his racing skills.
