There's no doubt that Tessa Lavey loves to play basketball.
But when it comes to hitting the court donned in the green and gold, it's always an extra special occasion.
Lavey has been named on the 12-strong team for the FIBA Asian pre-Olympic tournament to held in Malaysia next month.
"Every single time it gets better. Always excited to have the opportunity to put the green and gold on and represent Australia...I'm ecstatic," Lavey said.
The tournament next month in Kuala Lumpur acts as a pre-Olympic qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo games.
"We've got a really good group together, looking forward to the games we will play over there," Lavey said.
The team will have games against Chinese Taipei, India and Japan.
Leading up to the tournament Lavey was pleased with her solo progression as a player.
"Coming back to Bendigo has been a huge help," she said.
"I'm now close to my family, friends and also playing with the spirit and Braves has helped me with the consistency of my on court performance."
