A man who was allegedly found in a car with weapons and drugs in Bendigo was on bail at the time, a court has heard.
The man appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates Court on Monday, where he was denied bail.
The court heard he was allegedly in a car with two other people when it was stopped by police about 1.30am on Sunday.
Police searched the car and said they seized a sawed-off firearm, ammunition, and drugs.
The man was brought to the Bendigo Police Station where he was searched. He was allegedly found with a small quantity of methamphetamine.
The accused applied for bail, citing a need to be home with his family. But Magistrate Michael Coghlan said that desire had not stopped the man from allegedly offending while on bail.
"You are an unacceptable risk of committing further offending if released on bail," Mr Coghlan said.
The man was remanded in custody to appear before the Bendigo Magistrates Court in November.
