Among the competitors will be Bendigo's Berkley Wood, who will be dancing with her Shepparton-based partner Sam Brown.
Berkley and Brown have been dancing together for many years and are currently top ranked within the state.
"Over the years my confidence continues to improve and the relationship between Sam and I continues to get stronger," Wood said.
The duo will compete in all three categories: standard, Latin American and new vogue.
"I like all the different styles but in Latin dancing I really enjoy the music because of its great beat," Wood said.
The pair will dance in the under-21 division as well as taking on some of Melbourne's best in the adult division.
Event organiser Max Baker said last year Berkley and Brown took out all three under -21 events.
"They are both great dancers so no doubt we can expect big things from them again this year," Baker said.
The DanceSport competition will be held at the Bendigo Stadium on Saturday starting at 10am and the afternoon session from 2pm.
It is an international sport that was once known as ballroom dancing, but the name was recently changed to dance sport.
