The Australian Diamonds goal shooter re-joined the Vixens for the start of the 2019 season after stints with New South Wales Swifts and Collingwood Magpies, and enjoyed an excellent season for the league's eventual third-placed team.
Her signing, along with those of fellow goal shooter Mwai Kumwenda and classy goal attack Tegan Philip, ensure the Vixens will head into the 2020 season with its dominant goal circle intact.
Thwaites, who has notched up 216 games, said she was thrilled to re-sign with the Vixens for another year.
"I'm very excited to be back on board with the Vixens next year and am looking forward to building on what was a great first year back in the old colours," Thwaites said.
"Obviously we are wanting to learn and build on what we put out there this season and after the Diamonds tour and a bit of time off, I'll be ready to get into pre-season and try to go two spots better in 2020 with this great group."
Thwaites, who represented the Diamonds at both the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2019 World Cup, finished last season ranked fifth in goals scored with 469, at 91 per cent accuracy.
Philip, who last season became the highest-capped Vixen, and has played 118 games, was equally delighted to be back for another season alongside her Diamonds team-mate Thwaites and Malawian star Kumwenda.
"I'm really excited to sign with the Vixens for another year and to be a part of this group with Caity and MJ," said Philip.
"Obviously MJ came back later in the year so to have a pre-season together behind us, I'm looking forward to what we'll bring in 2020."
The latest batch of commitments brings the current number of signing for the Vixens for next season to nine.
Current Vixens signings for 2020: Kadie-Ann Dehaney, Kate Eddy, Mwai Kumwenda, Emily Mannix, Kate Moloney, Tegan Philip, Caitlin Thwaites, Liz Watson, Jo Weston.
