Emergency services were called to Bridge Street about 2.30pm today.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Paramedics took the man to Bendigo Health in a stable condition.

Bendigo Senior Constable Levina Bell said witnesses believed speed could have been a factor in the crash.

The vehicle left the road along the bend near Mulqueen Family Funerals Funerals, collecting a post and a sign before it came to a rest in the buildings.

The vehicle ploughed through a fence and a brick wall supporting the house's verandah.

It crashed through another brick wall, leaving a hole in the side of the art gallery.

The building that houses the gallery was formerly The Petal Factory.

Powercor attended to ensure power lines connecting the house to a nearby power pole were safe.

Traffic was reduced to a single lane on Bridge Street, towards Bendigo, as emergency services attended.

Firefighters, police, paramedics and SES responded.
