SUNDAY, 3pm UPDATE: An 18-year-old Bridgewater man has died in a crash at Yarraberb.
Sergeant Noel Jacobs from Central Goldfields Highway Patrol said the man was driving west on Sebastian Road when his car left the road and crashed into a tree.
A 14-year-old passenger has been airlifted to the Royal Children's Hospital in a stable condition with head injuries.
The cause of the crash is not yet known.
Sebastian Road will remain closed for some time.
So far this year 206 people have lost their lives on Victoria's roads, a 40 per cent increase on the same time last year.
EARLIER: One person is dead and a teenager has been flown to hospital after a single-car crash near Bridgewater.
Emergency services are at the scene of the crash on Sebastian Road at Yarraberb.
Paramedics treated a teenage boy for facial and arm injuries before he was flown by air ambulance to hospital.
The crash happened at about 12.30pm and the road remains closed.
