The Salvation Army Bendigo are holding the service at their Mundy Street site ahead of World Animal Day, October 4, the international day of action for animal rights and welfare.
"Everyone... loves their pets, so it's a good opportunity to celebrate them and what they bring to their lives," Salvation Army Bendigo corps officer Lauren Kirkham said.
"It's a service to celebrate creation and all the creatures God has made."
Pets attending the service are blessed, as are those who have since passed.
Lieutenant Kirkham said the Salvation Army was looking to build upon the event, which had been held in the past, in future years.
