EAGLEHAWK coach Travis Matheson says he's expecting to make some tough calls at selection on Thursday night ahead of Saturday's BFNL grand final against Strathfieldsaye.
The grand final injury watch this year centres around the Hawks' duo of Sam Harper (arm) and Trent Bacon (hamstring).
Neither Bacon or Harper have played since the Hawks' qualifying final win over Gisborne.
"Sam ran around and trained well last night, as did the other boys, so to this point in time everyone is putting their hand up to play, so it will be a matter of seeing how things pan out over the next 48 hours or so," Matheson said at Wednesday's grand final press conference.
"Certainly, there will be some guys stiff to miss out and I'm sure it's the same story on the other side of the park at Strath as well.
"One of the victims of having a strong side is you do have guys missing out."
Meanwhile, Strathfieldsaye coach Troy Coates said the indication from Richmond's VFL team is that Bailey Henderson will most likely be available to play with the Storm this week.
Henderson was an emergency for the Tigers team that beat Port Melbourne in last weekend's VFL preliminary final.
However, with Richmond's Jake Aarts having been suspended for four matches after a rough conduct report for an incident against the Borough's Tom O'Sullivan, a VFL grand final position will open up at the Tigers.
"The information we have been provided is Bailey is going to be with us this week. But we won't know officially until Thursday or Friday," Coates said.
"Whatever happens, it's a win-win situation for Bailey."
