Armed Crime detectives have seized three registered handguns from a property in Kangaroo Flat after the owner allegedly tried to import an illegal part.
The man had his firearms taken and his licence suspended after Australian Border Force officers detected the alleged illegal activity.
The part he is accused of trying to import into Australia converts a firearm into a fully automatic weapon.
The man will be charged on summons in relation to his alleged offending.
Anyone with an unregistered firearm can do so by contacting the divisional firearms officer at Bendigo police station on 5448 1300.
