WITH the 2019 finals series looming Eaglehawk managed to fit in some valuable goalkicking practice against Kangaroo Flat on Saturday.
Brodie Filo led the way with seven majors while Jarryd Pertzel and Sean Williams both added six in the Hawks' 180-point annihilation of the Roos at Dower Park.
The visitors landed 22 goals in the second half - 14 of those in the final term alone - to emerge as the 34.19 (223) to 6.7 (43) winners.
Flat's senior coach Rob Bennett was unavailable on Saturday and reserves coach Steve Shatwell took the reins.
The Hawks had seven goals to their name in the opening term before the Roos hit the scoreboard 25 minutes in.
Prolific scorer Filo started the Eaglehawk goal blitz with the day's opening six-pointer at the seven-minute mark.

Williams, Gedd Hommelhoff, Sam Harper and Pertzel all followed up in quick succession before Dylan Klemm gained a lucky free kick at centre half-forward to land the Roos' opening major close to red time.
Matt Clifford, who started in defence rotating on Cam McGlashan and then on Harper, was the Flat's best on the day.
When swapped into attack he ended the match with two majors and was the Flat's only multiple goalkicker.
Meanwhile Eaglehawk's Richard Tibbett asserted his dominance over Nick Lang in the ruck contests and fed his midfielders Ryan Gillingham, skipper Brodie Collins and the elusive Hommelhoff.
The Hawks added 5.9 in the second term with Ben McPhee hitting the scoreboard with a major after being handed a 50m penalty.
The Roos' only answer came from Jake Hywood who took a Darcy Poulter pass before the Hawks' second half avalanche unfolded.
Attacking the scoreboard end in the third quarter the Hawks' forwards led by Williams (3), Pertzel (2), Brodie Collins (whose high shot just crossed the line), Filo and McPhee dominated proceedings.
The Roos' defence was completely swamped. It got even more obvious in the final stanza with the visitors banging home 14.3 with the Roo backmen simply out-manoeuvred.
Filo turned on a master class banging home no less than four majors with his sixth for the day, a screwed shot from his left boot, the pick of the bunch.
Pertzel wasn't far behind. He pulled in a contested mark, flying from the back of a pack, to nail his sixth with only Clifford able to respond for the Roos.
With Riley McIvor gaining valuable match time in the reserves on his way back from injury the Hawks' selectors face a busy night on Thursday.
