Lachlan Josey yesterday ran from Castlemaine to Bendigo in support of the Royal Children's Hospital.
What makes the effort more impressive is that Lachlan did not train for the run.
"I compete in CrossFit and functional fitness, but a long run for me is 800 metres," he said.
Lachlan said the concept of running between the two towns came about when a joke was made about the distance between his home and his workplace.
It was then decided to turn it into a charity event.
His partner suggested the Royal Children's Hospital be the beneficiary, and after a bit of research, Lachlan decided that was the best course.
"It was a pretty easy decision to make, really... The kids have been dealt a rough card," he said.
SATURDAY: A central Victorian man is running from Castlemaine back to the city on Saturday to raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital.
Lachlan Josey, a fitness coach, is running between the two towns via Harcourt, Sedgwick and Spring Gully, and is due to arrive back in Bendigo this afternoon.
Already he has raised over $3000 for the hospital.
On his fundraising page, Lachlan says the fundraiser was borne out of a joke about running a marathon - he decided that if he was going to run one, without specific training, he would do it for a good cause.
