Danielle Bourke, 24, spent Saturday rowing 100 metres on a row machine for every dollar she raised during Dry July.
The final total on her GoFundMe page was $2490, but rather than tackle the kilometres by herself, Ms Bourke said it was a group effort.
"I did about 50 kilometres and I had another six or seven people also do about 50 kilometres each," she said. "We also had a few kids jump on the rower which was good.
"It took about five hours to do so I was glad a lot of people stayed for the day."
The money from Ms Bourke's Dry July fundraising will go to a host of organisations like the Cancer Council, Leukaemia Foundation, and the McGrath Foundation.
Ms Bourke, who has also given up alcohol for the month, said the event at the Bendigo Colosseum Gym had a really good atmosphere.
"Everyone cheered me on, especially when they could see I was pain," she said. "When I rode that last kilometre, I felt really emotional.
"Everyone got behind me and kept pushing me. The fact that we raised so much is awesome."
Ms Bourke, who is sporting some blisters from the event, said it would be a while before she hopped onto the rower again.
But she said she was hoping to turn the one-off Dry July fundraiser into an annual event.
"For sure," she said. "I was talking about making it an annual thing. It doesn't have to be Dry July and I guess I would want to try something different other than rowing."
With Dry July continuing for a couple of days, Ms Bourke has encouraged everyone to donate through to the end of the month at dryjuly.com/users/danielle-bourke
