Assault charge for police officer in western region
ASSAULT charges have been laid on a Victoria Police sergeant from the Western region.
Bendigo, Campaspe, the Central Goldfields and Macedon Ranges are among the areas within the Western region.
The Professional Standards Command charged the sergeant with three counts of assault after an incident that happened while on duty.
The police officer will appear before the court at a later date.
Victoria Police declined to comment on where in the Western region the officer served.
It also would not say if the officer had been suspended.
