The Blues, who went into the match in fifth place, broke he deadlock in the 37th minute when Lucy Teale scored her 12th goal of the season.
12 minutes into the second half Teale's season tally hit 13 when she doubled the Blues' lead.
The Hawks, who were riding a nine-game winning streak, hit back hard with a goal to Charlotte Edlin in the 67th minute.
Edlin's 12th goal of the season gave the Borough a spark, but the Strathdale defence held firm in the final 20 minutes and the Blues celebrated a 2-1 victory.
Strathdale moved to thrid place on the ladder with 22 points, five points behind Eaglehawk and eight behind title favourite Shepparton United.
Strathdale has a mortgage on the division two title.
The Blues made it 11 wins from as many games when they defeated Eaglehawk 4-0 on Saturday.
A brace to Max Vlaeminck and singles to Jon Bryers and Kane Butcher sealed the three points for Strathdale.
