The Eagles (5-5) took firm control over the game, however, it was the Mean Machine (10-0) who were on top of the scoreboard at the end of the match with the scores at 53-56.
"All credit to the Eagles, they played really well and led for most of the game, we didn't really catch them until the last quarter," Bridgewater coach Shellie Davies said.
Davies was happy with the way in which her team responded to the top efforts of the Eagles.
"In the past we've been a little panicky and rushed but this time the girls were controlled and took care of the process," Davies said.
"We weren't pleased that we got ourselves into that position in the first place as we had a few unforced errors throughout the game.
"Decision making is something that we will address - we had a lot of intercepts and turnovers but we didn't do enough with them."
Mean Machine's best on court went to goal shooter Carly Scholes.
Maiden Gully YCW netball operations manager Christie Griffiths said it was a close contest for the entire match.
"We're really coming together as a team. It has taken up to the halfway point of the season but we're gelling well and now understanding each other's game," Griffiths said.
"Our goalers have really stepped up during the past couple of weeks and are playing some great netball.
"But it was a whole team effort."
Maiden Gully YCW's best on went to Griffiths and Sidney Niemann.
Meanwhile Inglewood celebrated the 25th anniversary of its premiership trifecta - with a 1994 grand final rematch against BL Serpentine.
However, the Blues (2-8) fell short by two goals to the Bears (4-5), final scores 41-43.
Calivil United had no problems at home with a 37-goal win over Marong.
The Demons (6-4) remain within the top five while the Panthers (2-8) sit seventh on the ladder.
Pyramid Hill remains without a win this season after a 52-point defeat from top two team Mitiamo.
The Bulldogs (0-10) remain on the bottom of the ladder while the Superoos (8-2) continue to prove they are premiership contenders.
