Best win of the season for Golden Square. The home side restricted the powerful Gisborne side to its lowest score of the season. Liam Barrett was best for Square after blanketing Gisborne star Pat McKenna. Tim Walsh and Ethan Minns best for Gisborne, while coach Clinton Young was reported.
Sandhurst 14.11 (95) d Kyneton 10.7 (67)
A gallant Kyneton gave Sandhurst a scare at the QEO. A six-goal burst from the Dragons midway through the third term was the difference between the two teams. Defender Liam Ireland and midfielder Nick Stagg were the standouts for Sandhurst. Key defender Harrison Huntley was best for Kyneton.
South Bendigo 21.24 (150) d Castlemaine 7.11 (53)
The Bloods snapped their losing streak with a fine team performance. In-form forward Kaiden Antonowicz kicked seven goals, while Tom Brereton, coach Nathan Horbury and Mitch Goodwin played well. Matt Filo and Sam Simpson were best for the Magpies.
Eaglehawk 22.19 (151) d Kangaroo Flat 8.10 (58)
After an even first term, the Borough kicked 16.10 to 2.4 in the second and third terms to blow the Roos away. Sean Williams and Riley Saunders kicked 12 goals between them, while Cam McGlashan and Jesse Collins were superb. Jono Lanyon and Nathan McHugh were best for the Roos.
Maryborough 6.10 (46) lt Strathfieldsaye 29.16 (190)
A 16-goal haul by star forward Lachlan Sharp the highlight of the Storm's big win over the undermanned Magpies. Maryborough's milestone man Cam Skinner kicked two goals and was in the club's best players in his 400th game.
HEATHCOTE DISTRICT - ROUND 9
Leitchville-Gunbower 14.6 (90) d White Hills 12.8 (80)
Crucial four points for the reigning premiers. A six-goal-to-three third term gave the home side a 17-point lead at the last change and they held on in the final quarter to replace the Demons in the top five. Jack Dye kicked six goals in a best on ground performance.
Huntly 8.8 (56) lt Mt Pleasant 23.6 (144)
Ben Weightman was at his brilliant best, kicking 12 goals, in Mounts' big win over the Hawks. Dan Davie and Luke Marchesi also impressed for the winners. Huntly was best served by Harry Whittle, while Jack Burns kicked six of his side's eight goals.
Colbinabbin 6.11 (47) lt North Bendigo 8.12 (60)
The Bulldogs prevailed in a low-scoring scrap between the two heavyweights. Midfielders Joel Helman and Jack Donat led the way for the Bulldogs, while Matt Riordan and Hadleigh Sirett stood out for Colbo.
Heathcote 7.10 (52) lt Elmore 21.20 (146)
Elmore star Romain Grenville kicked eight goals in the Bloods' demolition of Heathcote. Playing without star midfielder Codie Price, the Saints were no match for the rampant Bloods.
LODDON VALLEY LEAGUE - ROUND 10
Newbridge 9.10 (64) d Calivil United 8.8 (56)
Reigning premier Newbridge is back in the top five after scoring a hard-fought win over Calivil United. William Daly and Billy Price got the Maroons over the line. Jake Hall and Jordan Lea battled hard for the Demons.
Marong 16.17 (113) d Inglewood 8.10 (58)
The Panthers had 10 individual goalkickers in their 55-point win over the bottom-side Blues. Adam Ward and Nathan Devanny continued their good form for Marong, while Haydn Polglase and Lachlan Sidebottom were best for Inglewood.
Mitiamo 13.13 (91) d Maiden Gully YCW 13.10 (88)
Mitiamo forward Ryan Wellington kicked a late goal to give the Superoos a three-point win in a thriller against Maiden Gully YCW.
Bridgewater 8.8 (56) lt Pyramid Hill 23.10 (148)
Nine goals from Braidy Dickens was the highlight of Pyramid Hill's big win over the Mean Machine. It was only seven points the difference at half-time before the Bulldogs kicked 17.5 to 3.4 after the main break.
NORTH CENTRAL LEAGUE - ROUND 8
Wedderburn 8.6 (54) lt Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers 23.20 (158)
Billy McInnes bagged seven goals as the Tigers continued on their merry way. Jake Hayes was best for the Redbacks.
Birchip-Watchem 14.10 (94) d Charlton 6.4 (40)
The Bulls led at every change on the back of good games from Nathan Gordon and Stephen Paulke (5 goals). Tom Finlay and Aaron Walklate tried hard for Charlton.
St Arnaud 15.15 (105) d Boort 4.7 (31)
Tom Eltringham snared seven goals for the Saints and James Coloe and Jack Tillig won plenty of the ball. Boort battled hard in one of its better defensive efforts of the season.
Wycheproof-Narraport 5.4 (34) lt Donald 21.16 (142)
Donald star Seamus Young kicked 10 goals in his side's 108-point victory. Matt Coleman and Daniel Pearce were also prominent. George Turner and Rolly White were best for the Demons.
