Leading Senior Constable David Ritchie said the theft occurred sometime late on Wednesday night or early Thursday.
Cash and coins were among the items stolen.

Leading Senior Constable Ritchie said anyone who might have seen anything should call the Castlemaine Police Station on 5470 4100.
He said it was a timely reminder for people to remember to lock their cars, especially if they were parked on the street.
