On Monday it was announced the 20-year-old fast bowler had signed with the Hobart Hurricanes for the Women's Big Bash League, while later this week she'll learn if she's been selected for Australia's Ashes tour of England.
Vlaeminck previously played with the Melbourne Renegades in the WBBL.
"I'd heard all about the great things happening with the female program down in Tasmania from a few players, so when I heard of their interest I was really excited about the move south," Vlaeminck told the Hurricanes website.
Vlaeminck was a member of Australia's T20 World Cup-winning squad last year before a knee injury crippled her home summer.
However, she put her hand up for Ashes selection by turning heads at a training camp over the past three weeks at the National Training Centre in Brisbane.
"I was pretty impressed watching Tayla Vlaeminck bowl in the nets, I think she could be a dark horse for the Ashes squad," Australian batter Beth Mooney told cricket.com.au.
"She looks like she's bowling with a bit of gas, and I was pretty lucky that I didn't have to face her in the nets as my first hit against bowlers."
Australian star Ellyse Perry is also a big fan of Vlaeminck's.
"I'm pretty scared to face Tay whenever that time comes, she looks like she's bowling pretty quick," Perry told cricket.com.au ahead of the camp.
"I've seen her in the nets (at Junction Oval) quite a few times now and I've had a chance to see just how she's worked with her rehab over the last couple of months.
"She's incredibly positive about everything, it's quite infectious in a lot of ways.
"The way she's bowling in the nets, it's really exciting and I've got my fingers and toes crossed for her."
The Ashes tour includes three one-day matches, one Test match and three T20Is from July 2.
If Vlaeminck misses selection in the Ashes squad, she appears certain to be picked in the Australian A squad to tour England at the same time as the senior squad.
Australia A will play 50-over and 20-over matches and play England in a three-day red-ball warm-up ahead of the Ashes Test.
