The Pioneers went down to the fifth-placed Western Jets 11.7 (73) to 4.7 (31) in Melbourne and their losing streak is now six.
After conceding the first two goals of the match, the Pioneers bounced back to kick four of the next five goals through Aaron Gundry, Sam Conforti, Kobe Brown and Jack Ginnivan.
The Pioneers led by a goal at half-time and looked capable of causing an upset.
The second half was all Western Jets as the home side kicked eight goals to none to run out convincing winners.
The Pioneers kicked three behind for the second half as they were held to their lowest score of the season.
Logan Fitzgerald, Braydon Vaz, Josh Treacy, Gundry, Jack Evans and Joe Guiney were best for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers (2-6), who are 12th on the NAB League ladder, have the bye next round.
