Thwaites' top shooting helped the Melbourne Vixens secure a 10-goal victory over the Sunshine Coast Lightning.
In the the top of the ladder clash goal shooter Thwaites scored 33/37 goals at 90 per cent shooting average.
Despite a slow start from the Vixens, a hard-fought effort helped unload 10 goals late in the first quarter to take a 16-13 lead.
The momentum continued in the second with the Vixens taking a seven-goal buffer 32-25 over the Lighting into half-time.
And by the end of the third the Vixens increased the lead to 13-goals, 48-35.
The Lightning struck hard in the fourth to reduce the margin to 10-goals and win the quarter.
However, the Vixens' lead was enough to secure victory on the final siren, 62-52.
It has been a whirlwind week for Thwaites following her appointment to Australia's Diamonds squad for the July Netball World Championships in England.
