IF you thought this morning was especially chilly, you were right.
It was Bendigo's coolest morning of the year, with a minimum temperature of 0.4 degrees recorded at 4.48am today.
But the temperature was well short of the city's record low for May, which is a freezing -4.6 degrees.
That record was set on May 31, 2002.
Temperatures dipped below freezing at Mangalore at 4.53am today, with a low of -1.1 degrees recorded.
Yesterday's cold weather saw a light dusting of snow at the summit of Mount Macedon.

Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Tom Delamotte said further snowfalls were not expected for today, with Bendigo and its surrounds expected to enjoy several days of settled weather before the next frontal system.
He said a return to cooler temperatures was expected from Sunday - Monday.
Bendigo is today forecast to reach a top of 13 degrees.
