The Strathfieldsaye trainer notched up seven winners from Monday through Sunday, to consolidate his third spot in the Victorian trainers premiership ahead of close rivals David Aiken, Anton Golino and Brent Lilley.
It shaped as a huge week for Douglas from the moment he scored a treble at Shepparton on Monday with Speedy Leo, The High Roller and Keayang Sandy.
He added to the tally with Artistic Saint at Swan Hill on Wednesday and Kotare Mahdi at Kilmore on Thursday, before the undoubted highlight, a triumph at Melton on Saturday night with the ever-consistret Bernie Winkle.
The six-year-old gelding brought up career win number 17 at his 136th start with a clever M1 to M2 win at harness racing headquarters, with Douglas on-board.
Four of the former New Zealand owned and trained pacer's wins have come in his last six starts, including two at Mildura.
A more than handy two months for Bernie Winkle has also included seconds at Melton and Swan Hill and a third at Ballarat.
Douglas continues to place the gelding well and is undoubtedly confident of future success with the son of Rock N Roll Heaven.
"Some are saying he is in career best form, but he just races consistently week in and week out," he said following the horse's previous win at Mildura.
"He's a great old horse and a favourite of the stable and is doing a good job wherever he goes."
Douglas put the lid on a fruitful week with the Cobram victory of Chinook Winds.
It was the mare's second win in as many starts at Cobram after he won there in March.
Monique Burnett took the winning drive.
Combined with the wins of Vandanta at Melton the previous weekend and those of Bernie Winkle at Mildura and Elegant Jewel on May 17, Douglas' tally stands at an impressive 10 winners in 10 days.
