The Sydney Dance Company has been spreading contemporary dance moves across Bendigo this week.
Teaching artists Viola Iida and Zachary Lopez hosted a workshop at Z Fit Studios this morning but have been visiting schools in the region through the week.
Mr Lopez said he had been impressed with the level of talent from Bendigo's dancers.
"It has been extremely high talent and a lot of positive vibes coming from the schools we have visited," he said. "There are varying levels and ages but we're here to support the local community and build their knowledge of contemporary dance.
"The reception we have received has been really great with (everyone) opening their minds and challenging themselves, which is inspiring to us as teachers and performers."
The workshop is based around the choreography from Sydney Dance Company's Cinco production which arrives at Ulumbarra on May 22.
"We are teaching some of the repertoire the company is doing in Cinco," Ms Iida said. "Once they have learned those steps, we move into a creative session and look at how company members created those steps from scratch and (the dancers) have a go themselves.
"We have had a great response. There are lots of creative minds here and its really great to see."
Z Fit Studios owner Saari Frochot-Chauhan said having Sydney Dance Company visit regional schools and groups was exciting.
"It's always a wonderful opportunity when anyone from a touring company like Sydney Dance Company come to Bendigo," she said.
"We decided to offer this as an adult workshop for 18 plus at an intermediate and advanced level. We wanted to offer it to people who might not work with (a company like this) normally."
