
Two people were arrested in Gisborne after a routine police patrol allegedly found drugs, stolen bank cards and weapons.
Police arrested a 43-year-old man and a 16-year-old following a vehicle intercept in Gisborne early at 1.35am on Friday.
Officers conducting observed a suspect vehicle parked with the engine running at a truck stop on the Calder Freeway.
A man and female youth with the car were spoken to. The girl was allegedly found to have cannabis in her possession as well as a stolen driver's licence and bank cards.
Police then searched the vehicle and allegedly located a number of illegal items including a stolen registration plate used in a petrol theft, a metal bar and a knife.
The 43 year-old man was charged with theft and weapon offences. He was bailed to attend Kyneton Magistrates' Court on June 17.
A 16 year-old female was charged with possessing cannabis and theft offences. She was bailed to attend a Children's Court at a later date.
