A 17-POINT half-time lead evaporated into a five-point defeat for the Bendigo Pioneers in their NAB League game under lights against the Northern Knights at the QEO on Friday night.
After conceding the first two goals, the Pioneers were staring at the prospect of improving to 3-1 when they led 6.1 to 3.2 at the main break.
However, they could muster just one second-half goal - kicked by Kobe Brown - as the Knights over-run the home side to prevail 8.6 (54) to 7.7 (49), with the match-winner kicked by Northern's Zane Costello.
Riley Wilson (23 disposals, five marks), who continued his solid start to the season, William Wallace and Jack Ginnivan led the best for the Pioneers, who are now 2-2 ahead of a game next Saturday against Calder.
Along with Wilson, the top disposal gatherers for the Pioneers featured captain James Schischka (25), Logan Fitzgerald (24) and Ben Worme (23).
Brown with two was the only multiple goalkicker for the Pioneers.
