SINCE taking over as coach of the Bendigo Braves women last year Megan Moody has won 28 of 29 games.
The only blemish through those 29 games has been a loss to Launceston in last year's qualifying final.
The Tornadoes upset the Braves women by seven points at the Bendigo Stadium that night and return to the court on Saturday as the NBL1 season continues.
The Braves women have picked up from where they left off last season when they won the final SEABL women's title, defeating Launceston 119-96 in the grand final.
They have opened this year with a 5-0 record - four of those wins by double figure margins - to be the early-season pace-setters alongside fellow uneaten teams Dandenong and Ringwood.
"Being 5-0, it's still early days in terms of this season. We're going very well, but hopefully, each week there's things we can improve on," Braves women's star Kelly Wilson said this week.
"We've still got Becca Tobin (currently playing with German club Rutronik Stars Keltern) to come in, so it's exciting in terms of where we are right now.
"It's still a week by week thing... we're not getting too far ahead of ourselves, but we're enjoying playing and we're enjoying winning."
Wilson heads into Saturday night's clash against the Tornadoes fresh off being announced earlier this week as the latest off-season signing for the Bendigo Spirit.
Wilson has been a cornerstone of the Braves women's hot start to the season, averaging 19.2 points, 11.6 assists, 6.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.
With her 19.2 points and 11.6 assists, Wilson is one of two Braves' women averaging a double-double along with Gabe Richards (20.4 points and 13.4 rebounds).
Launceston makes the trip to Bendigo with a 1-2 record and coming off a 104-95 win over Tasmanian rival Hobart in its last game.
Saturday night's game at the Bendigo Stadium tips off at 5.30pm.
