CENTRAL Goldfields Crime Investigation Unit is investigating a series of thefts of and from motor vehicles in the Chewton area overnight.
A motor vehicle and a trailer believed to be valued at more than $20,000 are among the stolen items.
Detective Senior Constable Scott De La Rue said police were also investigating multiple thefts from motor vehicles.
He said inquiries were in their early stages.
Detective Senior Constable De La Rue urged people to lock unattended vehicles and not to leave keys or other valuables inside.
He appealed for anyone with information about the incidents to make a confidential report to Crime Stoppers either by calling 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
