The program is a partnership between the college and the Bendigo Rowing Club and has been designed to fast track the students' learning experience.
VCC heath and PE faculty leader Adam Treloar said the program broadened the scope of sports offered under the physical education curriculum.
"Rowing is a whole body workout that builds cardiovascular fitness and promotes team building," Treloar said.
"It is a sport which is appealing to the college as boys and girls can participate equally and in mixed crews."
BRC captain Peter Morison will work directly with the 25 students from Years 7 and 8 participating in the four-week intensive program.
"The program familiarises students with the basic fundamentals of the sport to get them rowing together on the water in crews," Morison said.
The program is conducted on Bendigo's Lake Weeroona.
