The 23-year-old re-joins the Spirit for a second-consecutive season, after starting all 21 games during the 2018-19 season.
She averaged 10.33 points, 2.57 rebounds, 2.38 assists per game, and 31.4 minutes per game.
The former Australian junior produced a WNBL career best 30 points against her former team and eventual champions University of Canberra Capitals in the Spirit's final game of the season.
Wehrung becomes the second player to be re-signed by the Spirit following that of the signature of American import Becca Tobin.

New head coach Tracy York considered Wehrung's re-signing as a priority, after an impactful first season in Bendigo.
"Abbey is an athlete, fast guard, with strength to match," York said.
"With plenty of experience under her belt on all levels of basketball, her IQ is high and only seems to grow as she continues her career in the WNBL.
"Being a regional Victorian and one close to Bendigo, she understands our value in the Bendigo community and represents that with pride."

Wehrung is spending the WNBL off-season playing with Knox Raiders in the NBL1 competition.
She scored 12 points and had six assists and three rebounds in the Raiders' season-opening win against Kilsyth Cobras on the weekend and is aiming to lead her side to a second-consecutive finals berth.
The young guard, who was born in Daylesford, said she was excited to be back with the Spirit, and described Bendigo as her 'family away from family'.
"The community embraced me as one of their own and now they are one of mine," Wehrung said.
"I cannot wait to represent them for another year."
They are 2018-19 season MVP Nat Hurst, Nadeen Payne, Louella Tomlinson, Marena Whittle, Cassidy McLean, Kara Tessari, Maddi Wild, Bianca Dufelmeier, Courtenay Wragg, Caitlin McLachlan and Jess Rennie.
