I'm in the middle of moving house and left this email far too late this week. It's 11.45pm on Saturday (this email reaches you in about 6 hours) - and I'm only just getting to it, now.
It's been a pretty solid news week, which has kept us busy - so it's not an ideal time to be packing boxes and working through the endless list of things to do when you're moving.
But, I'm surrounded by a pretty great team - so even when my world feels a bit messy (and quite literally, is) the newsroom keeps humming along, doing what they do - and in my view, that's a pretty good job.
Our news reporters and photographers are committed to telling your stories; seeking truth and advocating for our community. They're in court, at council meetings, attending community functions, asking questions, digging, exploring and challenging. They work hard to bring you news that matters to central Victoria, and they make me proud every day.
Our sport team is second to none. Their previews of the footy and netball season are well worth a read - and perhaps taking a few moments to reflect on just how much work goes into putting them together. The sports journalists at the Addy are committed, passionate and know their stuff. They're great writers and great advocates for Bendigo athletes.
We spend a lot of time sharing the stories of others, some of which you can see below, but today i want to thank the Addy newsroom - for all you do for our masthead, our region, and each other.
Have a great Sunday,
Nicole
