Strathdale-Maristians' Cam Taylor and Huntly-North Epsom's Adam Ward had brilliant seasons with bat and ball and are expected to be at the top of the leaderboard.
Taylor, who previously won the award in 2011-12 and 2016-17, could become just the fourth player in league history to be crowned the BDCA's premier player a third time.
Wayne Walsh, Scott Johnson and Adam Burns all won the award three times.
In the home and away season, Taylor made 455 runs and took a league-best 46 wickets.
Ward was the key player in the Power's push to premiership success.
In the home and away season he made 379 runs and claimed 35 wickets.
After Taylor and Ward it's a wide-open race.
White Hills' all-rounder Mitch Winter-Irving should poll strongly after making 659 runs and taking 15 wickets.
Skipper Ben Gunn will lead the charge for Golden Square after making 517 runs and taking 27 wickets.
Bendigo United captain Jake Klemm had a big season individually (547 runs), but his Redbacks finished bottom of the table.
All-rounder Alex Pearson (384 runs and 28 wickets) was Bendigo's most consistent player, while Chris Barber (442 runs and 24 wickets) was solid for Kangaroo Flat.
Eaglehawk, Sandhurst and Strathfieldsaye shared the load this summer and didn't have standout individuals that could challenge for the award.
