Registrations have been opened early online while the BCA will open from this weekend for people wanting to signup in person.
BCA president Doug Lougoon said about 320 people were required to carry all the dragons as well as another 250 for all the banners and regalia.
"We stated two weeks earlier to make sure we get the full complement for the torchlight and gala parades," he said. "Combined with visiting lion teams it would be in excess of 1000 people on parade day."
Mr Lougoon said original dragon Loong already has enough carriers while new dragon Dai Gum Loong is close to be filled.
"It is shaping to be the biggest Easter participation ever, there is a lot to look forward to," he said. "We want to fill every position possible. There are variety of positions for girls and boys aged from eight up, along with teenagers and adults."
To sign up visit the Bendigo Chinese Association in Bridge Street from March 23 between 1pm and 5pm on weekends or from 4pm to 6pm on weekdays until April 18.
