THE Sunraysia Highway has re-opened at Cope Cope after a fatal crash on Monday night.
The speed limit has been set to 40 kilometres an hour in both directions near Jeffcott Road.
One man died in the crash, while another was airlifted to hospital.
Update, 6.30pm
SUNRAYSIA Highway is closed at Cope Cope following a serious collision that left one man dead and another airlifted to hospital.
The road is closed in both directions near Swanwater North Road, VicRoads was warning.
Motorists were being told to follow the directions of police and traffic management crews to detour around the site, but VicRoads advised people should avoid the area if they could.
Update, 6.20pm
POLICE say one person has died after two vehicles collided on the Sunraysia Highway this afternoon.
The male driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene.
The male driver and only occupant of the other vehicle has been airlifted to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined and the investigation remains ongoing.
So far this year, 62 people have lost their lives on Victorian roads, compared to 45 in 2018.
Update, 5.35pm
A MAN in his 30s remains trapped in a vehicle with minor injuries to his legs and elbow.
He is in a stable condition, an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.
A State Emergency Service spokesperson said the St Arnaud road rescue unit was on scene, while CFA appliances from Donald and Cope Cope had also attended.

ONE patient remains trapped in a vehicle following a crash on the Sunraysia Highway near Donald.
Paramedics were called to reports of a multi-vehicle crash at 4.40pm and were treating two patients, an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.
A man in his 80s was in a critical condition following the incident, the spokesperson said. A second person remained trapped in the vehicle and had sustained serious injuries.
An air ambulance has been dispatched, with the VicEmergency website locating the "rescue road trap" at the intersection with Cope Cope Road, near Lake Nurrambeet.
