The Blues won Wednesday's grand final against the University of Queensland by one run in a thrilling finish.
The Queenslanders, who had looked in control of the match for most of the final, required three runs off the final ball of the match to win the match.
Carlton skipper Evan Gulbis bowled a full delivery outside of off stump which was hit straight to cover and the Queenslanders could only manage a single.
Crone's figures in the final - 0-24 off four overs - weren't a true indication of how well he bowled.
The Strathfieldsaye speedster bowled with great pace and eight of the runs off his bowling came via edges through slip to third man.
Crone also took a crucial catch late in the match to dismiss University of Queensland skipper Dom Michael for 75.
Stepien opened the batting for the Blues and made 25, including four boundaries. In four innings at the Adelaide carnival the White Hills left-hander made 104 runs with a highest score of 46.
Carlton returns to Premier Cricket action this Saturday where it will attempt to defend 260 against Camberwell.
